My iOS Device is Still Not Showing Up Wirelessly in iTunes!

Double-check that you have configured wi-fi sync to be on by connecting the iPhone/iPad/iPod to iTunes and enabling Wi-Fi Sync under the ?Summary? tab and by checking the box next to ?Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi? ? if this is already checked try unchecking it and checking it again

Toggling wireless networking on and off again in iOS Settings:
1.    Open Settings and tap Wi-Fi
2.    Flip Wi-Fi from ON to OFF and wait about 10 seconds
3.    Flip Wi-Fi from OFF to ON again

Be sure that both the computer with iTunes and the iOS device are connected to the same wireless network router, be sure no IP conflicts exist. If an IP conflict is found, use manual DHCP and set a static IP far out of the conflict range.

Use Safari’s Reading List to Send & Share Links Between Macs & iOS Devices

Reading List is a great feature of Safari that syncs saved web pages between Safari on all of your Macs and iOS devices. This lets you save web pages to read later and works a lot like Pocket and Instapaper, except that it doesn’t require any additional downloads, toolbars, plugins, or third party apps in order to use, because it’s all built right into Safari in OS X and iOS.
Though it may seem to directly compete with the likes of third party apps like Pocket, Reading List often works best as a temporary bookmark sharing service, letting you send and share links from one of your own devices to another and from computer to computer, without the cluttering of the actual Bookmarks menus with links and web pages you may only need to access once or twice. That is really it’s strong suite for many users, so keep that in mind when using Reading List, and don’t necessarily think of it as a Pocket/Instapaper replacement.

Using Reading List in Safari for Mac OS X

There are a few basic commands you should know for saving and sharing links with Reading List in Safari for OS X:
·         Shift+Click a link in Safari to immediately save it to Reading List
·         Command+Shift+D to immediately save the current page to Reading List
·         Command+Shift+L to show or hide Reading List
·         Right-Click a link and choose “Add Link to Reading List”

Web pages saved to Reading List sync practically instantaneously to Safari on all other Mac and iOS devices that are configured to be using the same iCloud account, but without iCloud Reading List will not sync at all.

Using Reading List in Safari for iOS

On the iOS side of things, Reading List is even more simple to use than OS X, both for saving links and for retrieving them:
·         Tap and hold any link in Safari, then choose “Add to Reading List” to save a web page for later
·         On iPad: Tap the bookmark button, then tap the eyeglasses icon at the bottom to reveal the Reading List
·         On iPhone & iPod touch: Tap Bookmarks > Reading List

You might have noticed that Twitter on the iPhone also has an option to “Save for Later”, but unlike the iPad version of Twitter it does not send those saved links to Pocket or Instapaper, instead it sends the saved links to Reading List.
If you don’t use Reading List at all right now, try using it as a personal bookmark sharing service rather than a pure reader, you just may get more use out of it that way.

Jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 with Evasi0n 1.4

Almost immediately after iOS 6.1.2 was released with a few bug fixes for the Microsoft Exchange data use problem, a new version of the Evasi0n jailbreak utility came out to handle any devices that were upgraded to 6.1.2. It?s still the same Evasi0n jailbreaking experience, untethered and all. Like prior versions of Evasion, the following devices running iOS 6.1.2 are supported: iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, and iPad mini, and the 4th and 5th generations of iPod touch.

Jailbreaking iOS 6.1.2

If you used evasion with iOS 6.1 when it first came out you will be familiar with the process already. The procedure is identical regardless of using an iPhone, iPad, or Windows or Mac.
Update to iOS 6.1.2 through OTA or IPSW if you haven?t done so already, either method works
Back up your iOS device with iTunes or iCloud ? this is important because it allows you to unjailbreak without losing any of your files or personal data
Download Evasi0n 1.4 (Mac OS X) (Windows) and unzip it
Temporarily turn off the passcode to prevent any conflicts by going to Settings > General > Passcode Lock
Launch Evasi0n (right-click and Open in OS X, run as Administrator in Windows) and connect the iOS device to the computer using the standard USB cable
When your device is recognized, click on ?Jailbreak? to begin, the entire process takes a minute or two and is generally very fast
Towards the end of the progress indicator, you will be told to find and tap the ?Jailbreak? icon on the iOS home screen, do that when necessary
The device will reboot itself and will be jailbroken, find the brown Cydia icon on the home screen and launch it
Select either ?User? or ?Hacker? from the Cydia choices and be on your way

Automatically Stream Photos from iPhone to a Mac Screen Saver with Photo Stream

The latest versions of iPhoto (11+) and OS X (Mountain Lion+) support Photo Stream screen savers, this means you can have your Mac display a screen saver show that automatically updates the stream of photos based on pictures that are taken on the go with an iPhone, without ever having to manually copy pictures over to the computer or set them into folders like the old fashioned way..

You probably already guessed as much, but OS X Photo Stream screen savers rely on iCloud. If you somehow have gotten this far in iOS and Mac ownership without a free iCloud account,

Step 1: Enable Photo Stream in iOS

To use the auto-updating Photo Stream screen savers in Mac OS X, you?ll first need to enable Photo Stream in iOS.
Go to Settings, then ?iCloud? and scroll down to ?Photo Stream?
Flip ?My Photo Stream? to ON
i
You can also use individual shared streams if they have been shared and gathered by iPhoto.

Step 2: Enable Photo Stream in iPhoto for OS X

Speaking of iPhoto, that?s the next place you?ll want to look, because you need to enable Photo Stream in iPhoto as well. This allows the iOS device (iPhone in this example) to stream it?s images automatically to the Mac, with iPhoto being the receiver. From the Mac:
Launch iPhoto and click ?Photo Stream? from the left menu
Click the big blue ?Turn on Photo Stream? button to let iPhoto start importing the pictures from your iOS device to the Mac via iCloud

Remember you will need iPhoto 11 or later to have this feature at all, and iCloud set up must be for the same account as the iPhone (or iPad or iPod touch).

Step 3: Choose the Photo Stream to Use as the Screen Saver in OS X

Now that iPhoto is going to automatically accept your photo streams from the iOS device, you can choose the individual photo streams as an option in the Screen Saver control panel:
Open System Preferences from the Apple menu
Choose ?Desktop & Screen Saver? and click the Screen Saver tab
Select any slideshow style (Ken Burns is great) from the screen saver type, then click the ?Source? button
Under ?Recent iPhoto Events? choose the photo stream you want to use as the screen saver
